MKM growing robustly and now fifth largest company in the State
- MKM maintains growth in 2018
- Sales to rise to significantly more than 280,000 tons.
- Strategy of opening up growth markets paying off
With sales of 1.1 bn euros and healthy growth of 23%, MKM is now the fifth largest company in Saxony-Anhalt — thus climbing one place in the rankings. This is the result of an analysis by NORD/LB on the sales growth achieved by companies in Saxony-Anhalt in 2017. The company is also maintaining this growth in 2018: For example, sales volumes by the end of November had already passed the figure for the whole preceding year (270,000 tons) and in 2018 will clearly exceed 280,000 tons. “The investments in productivity have paid off as has the strategy of opening up growth markets such as Renewable Energies and electromobility”, MKM CEO Roland Harings stresses.
MKM is a global technology leader for copper and brass semis. The company has invested more than EUR 400 million since 1997. As a unique manufacturer in the world, MKM offers wire, strips, tubes, rods and sheets from a single source. In the past year, MKM processed more than 280,000 tons with a workforce of some 1,200 employees. Approximately 1,000 customers from 60 countries spread across the globe rely on MKM. This positions MKM as the global leader in the electronics and construction industry, the solar sector, plant engineering, the automotive industry, as well as the aerospace sector and in telecommunications.
